Syracuse is overrated, way overrated

Syracuse made a good run to get to the Big East finals, but now they are way to highly thought of. The team really only had a couple of good wins, and upon second look, those aren't even that great. They didn't beat any of the top teams in the Big East during the regular season, they're best win in conference was against West Virginia. They also beat Kansas and Memphis. However, both those wins came very early in the season and both those teams are laden with first-year starters.

They're big win recently came against now 1 seed UConn. The game went on for six epic overtimes, but UConn should have won early on. They didn't because Syracuse hit every big 3 they needed to and UConn missed a bunch of big free throws down the stretch, or rather the stretches. As one would expect, the big men for both teams got into foul trouble and got tired as the game went on. This hurt UConn more than Syracuse because UConn relies on their bigs more, especially Thabeet, who fouled out.

All in all, upon further review, Syracuse isn't the great team they seemed to become after winning the epic 6 OT thriller. Now, to the future. Syracuse's opening round matchup against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will be a lot closer than people expect. The 'Jacks are hot right now, and are lead by 4 seniors out of their starting 5. In specific, they are lead by Center Matt Kingsley who averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds in his teams three tournament games. Like almost every matchup in the big dance, no one really knows what will happen on Friday when these two teams meet. The one thing I do know though, is that Syracuse isn't the team people suddenly think they are.
